Can't let this day go by without a tribute to the memory of this extraordinary, inspiring, courageous man

  1. you BROKE your WRIST?!?!?
poor you, i am sorry to hear it but hope you are mending well AND don't need surgery.
i've been a lazy blogger, just posting Insights from the Dalai Lama. i have been down, but not too depressed, at least it is SPRING here and not snowing. wonder how i'd fare in real cold weather? would i make it through the 1st winter?
    love, laughs and limber limbs!

  2. Thank you, Taza!
I'm sorry to burst your blogger bubble, but when it comes to being a lazy blogger, I'm afraid I've got you whipped! ;-)~ I need to post some updates, but my wrist is out of the cast, doesn't appear to require surgery, but sure is puffy and sore still! The muscles atrophied and the tendons shrank, or something. Tough work getting it all limber again! As for our weather, it's schizo. We've had some lovely sunny days in the 70's but had snow yesterday and it was just 8ºF when I got up this morning! Ack!

    xoxo and Happy Earth Day!

There is still strong in our society the belief
that animals and the natural world have value
only insofar as they can be converted into revenue.
That nature is a commodity.
And that the American dream is one of unlimited consumption.
There are many of us, on the other hand,
who believe that animals and the natural world
have value by virtue of being alive.
That Nature is a community to which we belong
and to which we owe our lives.
And that the deeper American dream is one of unlimited compassion.
