When not being assaulted by bottle rockets or bedazzled by brocades and chrysanthemums, our skies were putting on a beautiful (and much quieter) July 4th holiday weekend display of their own...
It seems a cloud-bird lost a tail feather ~
now drifting, lonesome and lazy, across the tranquil sky…
"… So let us welcome peaceful evening in."
~William Cowper
May the skies above you be peaceful as well. Enjoy your weekend!
P.S. For those of you who enjoy such things, my next post will be Part 1 of 2 of the 2014 Karz Club "Rod Run" annual hot rod/classic cars show, which took place in Sheridan last Saturday. Hope you'll cruise on by!
Wow. I love that first one. A feather! Fantastic. I hope your FoJ holiday was spectacular and also peacefully relaxing. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny! And I hope your holiday was lovely as well. Thank you for visiting!
DeleteSerene and lovely!
ReplyDeleteYes, and there's been a shortage of serenity here lately, so it's nice to at least be able to find it in the skies above us at times!
DeleteLove, love, that feather cloud!!
ReplyDelete..... and yes, our Stratford does have a Shakespeare Festival (I was there to see A Midsummer Night's Dream)
thank you for your quotes :)
Well, I should hope so!!! LOL You're welcome for the quotes, and perhaps that feather cloud is a quill pen, drifting over to the Shakespeare Festival in your Stratford! :-)
DeleteLove that feather. And am so very grateful that you saw it, recognised its magic, captured it and shared it.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Thanks, Ellie Sue - and thanks to the cloud-bird who left it there for us to see and enjoy. :-)
DeletePretty images, the first cloud capture does look like feather. And I love the colors on the second shot.! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen! We've been getting some very colorful sunsets lately - usually it's our sunrises that are photo-worthy!
DeleteYou really get some great shapes in the clouds! Love the feather! That sunset is quite the bedazzler. So, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your next post. You know I love that kind of thing! :)
That feather was really fun, especially since it was all alone in the sky - no other clouds anywhere near it. It looked so "on purpose!" :-)
DeleteNow if I could just carve out some TIME to work on that post! Ugh, summer's are just too hectic - especially this one for some reason!
Very lovely, especially the feather sky ;-). xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Spudly!
DeleteI love the "bird feather" cloud. That's exactly what it looked like. How very clever of you to come up with the perfect title for the image!!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous colors in the peaceful evening photo. However, the bird feather is my favorite for being so unique.
Looking forward to the car posts. I have no computer at home so I'm really limited these days - I should say that I have it but it doesn't like to work right now - takes 2-3 hours to boot up and then freezes up for no reason always at a horrible time (is there ever a good time!!!)
Thanks, Jo! I knew when I saw it I had to grab my camera. I don't recall ever seeing one like it before, and thought it was so pretty!
DeleteI'm sorry you're having such horrible problems with your computer at home! I hope you've been able to get it fixed or replaced by now. It's not even that old, is it? And no, there is never a good time for computer issues!!
Thankfully I copied my comment this time - it did it again but I was ready this time - woo hoo!!
ReplyDeleteLive and learn (forget and re-learn), that's my motto! :-) I wonder if your comment problems are related to your computer issues.
DeleteAlso, meant to tell you that when you have time (she said optimistically!), both Part 1 and 2 of the car posts are now published. Also a SkyWatch post in between that I don't think you'll want to miss - talk about unique clouds! (Or whatever it was!) xoxo
